OFF space
OFF space is a project focused on the analysis and definition of learning spaces through a practical and theoretical research activity based on a selection of collective exercises that consider both the physical and abstract dimensions of a space to reflect on its activation. The project starts from the space of Rumore (Urbino) and initially defines its approach by questioning basic elements such as form, structure, boundaries, or even function, before entering a deeper critical dimension aimed at reflecting on the creation of new learning methods and how the space itself can become a fundamental element to rethink contemporary educational practice. Based on a "learn by doing" approach, the OFF space process is seen as a constant progression made up of a series of steps that can have a close relationship with the physical dimension of a space and that slowly contribute to the creation of a new perception of its existence and meaning. Considering contemporary social culture and its needs, this project feels the urgency to discuss some themes related to the social and cultural dimensions of spatial theory, such as the dynamics of public space; the meaning of boundaries; the exclusive privilege of private property; affordable housing; decolonization; and the issues surrounding territory.
