Venghino signori, venghino!

Venghino signori, venghino! was born from the collaboration between ISIA Urbino and the MAGMA Museum of Civitanova Marche (MC), which houses an important collection of posters. The book is an immersive ascent into the world of the circus, examining the posters of the Italian circus. The book consists of 4 volumes, each of them has a different format, which evoke the heterogeneity of the dimensions of the circus posters, posted illegally wherever there is space. The first volume traces the history of the circus, from its inception until the present day. The second puts together the collection of the Magma museum, showing the sounds of the circus up. The third and fourth books represent our critical intervention towards the treatment of animals and women in the circus world. Starting from the original posters, we dramatized the images accompanying them with pungent texts. The magnificent illustrated images of the circus posters were isolated and subsequently assembled, composing a collage with a dreamlike flavor.
