Books & Others Prize 2022

Books & Others Prize is a competition and an exhibition dedicated to the art and visual culture book. It represents the possibility, for a publishing house, to enhance its titles in a context that is different from the ordinary, exhibiting the best Italian books year after year. Twenty titles have been selected in this catalogue, each of which belongs to different publishing houses. In September 2022, a jury of five experts awarded a prize to the best art and visual culture book published in Italy. The curators of the event have invited about thirty Italian publishers very active in the contemporary world to participate. The sources from which the contents of the catalog come are digital, hence the reflection for the catalog concept: structuring a narrative linked to the iconography of the multimedia graphic field to emphasize its visual language. The objective is to investigate the contrast between the book object, in its analogical dimension, and the digital methods of representation to find a connection between the two worlds, often experienced – erroneously – separately, and belonging to socially very distant spheres.
